The battery in the backpack

Worn on the back, the battery lightens the board by 4 to 7 kg. The result: a smoother, freer, and more maneuverable ride. Protected from shocks and vibrations, it gains longevity and can withstand intensive off-road use—something conventional systems can't do. A gain in both enjoyment and durability.

Battery

A battery that never gets tired

Waterproof, long-lasting, and interchangeable with a single clip: the Sternboard battery was designed for a free and unrestricted ride—you'll get tired before it does. Available in 15, 20, or 25 Ah, it adapts to your needs and offers up to 100 km of range depending on the model. Fast charging at home (2.5 hours for 100 km) or at dedicated charging stations. Simple, efficient, and ready to go.

Circuit breaker

The patented circuit breaker cord

Inspired by the kill switch on jet skis, our patented kill switch cord automatically cuts power in the event of a fall or intentional descent. It protects both the rider and all onboard electronics: motor, battery, controller. Discreet in use, it offers maximum safety—without ever compromising the riding experience.

Security

The fire-resistant, risk-free bag

The battery is housed in its own custom-made, fire-resistant, shock-resistant, and foam-padded inner bag. This technical cocoon isolates it in case of impact or incident, whether riding, transporting, or even while charging at home. A true safety shield for worry-free use in all circumstances.

A practical and comfortable bag

A hiking backpack, with all the comfort that comes with it. The custom-designed battery, nestled against your back, is unobtrusive: even during extended use, its weight is barely noticeable. As a bonus: 20 liters of capacity for your personal belongings, and foam padding for enhanced back protection. It protects your back as much as your gear.

We've thought of everything! The Stern's motor, directly integrated into its rear wheel with a direct-drive brushless hub, ensures complete waterproofing and total protection against the elements. The result: no belt, no maintenance, and real protection against water, grass, dust...

An engine that doesn't give up, even uphill.

With its 1000 or 2000 W of power, depending on the model, the Stern' propels you effortlessly, even on steep slopes or loose terrain. Its ultra-responsive torque allows you to climb red runs or reach speeds of up to 75 km/h. All this with a smooth, quiet... and maintenance-free ride.

Waterproofing

A perfect seal

The Stern was designed with one purpose: to tackle any situation. Rain, puddles, mud, sand, dust… nothing fazes it. Waterproof electronics, motor, and battery: all sensitive components are protected. The wooden deck is varnished, and the other parts are made of aluminum, TPU plastic, or stainless steel. Maintenance is simple: a quick rinse with water is all it takes.

Technical choices designed to extend the Stern's lifespan: complete waterproofing, extreme robustness, a battery isolated from shocks and vibrations inside the bag, a beltless motor integrated directly into the wheel, passively cooled electronic control unit… Unlike conventional bikes, the Stern' was designed to withstand intensive and sustained off-road use. A reliable bike that truly lives up to its promises.

Thick 14-ply wood deck (maple and bamboo), reinforced aluminum frame, high-quality semi-rigid TPU components (resistant to shocks, temperatures and abrasion), dual mechanical suspensions at the front and rear, no exposed fragile components… Ultra-robust, the Stern’ accompanies you on your craziest rides — without ever faltering.

Maintenance

Minimal maintenance

Maintenance is a breeze: the Stern' simply rinses with a hose. No chain, no belt, no maintenance required—just a little grease in the bearings now and then. Consumables are built to last, and if they ever do wear out, you can find replacements—including spare parts—with just a click in our online shop.
