Who it's for
For forest and mountain rides: the suspended axle reduces fatigue on long rides and takes rough terrain in its stride.
For the more technical riders, who want to know what a €590 part brings: more comfort and better obstacle clearance, not more speed or range.
For town too: cobbles and kerbs, where the original axle shows its limits.
For rental companies: less fatigue for occasional customers on uneven ground.
A ride on rough terrain
A Sunday morning, on a forest trail scattered with roots and stones. With the original axle, every bump comes up through your legs, and after an hour you feel it. With the suspended front axle, part of the shock is absorbed before it reaches the rider: the ride lasts longer, without the usual fatigue.
In town, the same axle changes the daily commute too: you feel the cobbles of a historic centre or badly lowered kerbs much less.
With or without the suspended axle: which to choose?
The original axle suits regular use in town and on cycle paths, where the surface is mostly smooth. The 2026-2027 suspended front axle is for riders who often ride in forests, mountains or on any rough terrain, and for those who simply want more comfort over bumps in town (cobbles, kerbs).
