Can the Stern' replace a scooter for getting to work?
- Yes. It is EDPM-compliant like an electric scooter: cycle lanes, 25 km/h, from age 14. The Stern' Urban covers 20 km with no backpack; the backpack versions range from 50 to 100 km. It does not fold, but you can carry it by hand and take it on public transport.
What makes the Sternboard electric skateboard unique?
- Its three wheels and its battery carried in a backpack. The three wheels give a turn close to snowboarding and good stability, even on uneven ground. The backpack makes the board 4 to 7 kg lighter and protects the battery from knocks. The board, the motor and the backpack battery are IP67 waterproof.
Is the Sternboard electric skateboard legal in France?
- Yes. The Stern' is EDPM-compliant: speed limited to 25 km/h, front and rear lights, reflectors and a horn. It follows the same traffic rules as an electric scooter.
What is the real-world range of the Sternboard?
- About 50 km with the 15 Ah battery, 75 km with 20 Ah and 100 km with 25 Ah; 20 km with the integrated battery of the Stern' Urban. Rider weight, gradients and terrain all affect it.
