It doesn't fold, but it goes everywhere
The Stern' does not fold, but you can carry it by hand and it fits easily in a car or van.
The full guide. Ride with peace of mind.
How to use your Stern' properly, within the rules and safely: from delivery day to rides on snow or sand.
The Stern' does not fold, but you can carry it by hand and it fits easily in a car or van.
Three wheels, a motor in the rear wheel: the ride is stable from the start. Complete beginner or experienced boarder, you set the speed to your level, without pushing the pace on your first ride.
For your first few metres, the learning pole, sold as an accessory, gives you support; you let go of it as soon as you feel comfortable.
In town, the Stern' is an EDPM (the French legal category for powered personal transporters): it follows the same rules as the electric scooter and rides on cycle lanes. For leisure, the backpack battery allows long rides in the forest, on the beach or in the mountains.
Commuting, evenings out, bus or tram: you carry the board by hand and it slips into a car boot or a lift.
Sand, forest trails, snow with the dedicated kit: each terrain calls for a speed adjustment, but the IP67 waterproofing stays the same everywhere. After a session in salty or muddy conditions, a simple rinse with a hose is enough.
Braking is progressive, without sudden jolts, controlled from the remote control. Front and rear LED lights and an approved horn complete the standard equipment. Protective gear (helmet, pads) is still recommended, particularly while learning.
No complex mechanical maintenance: the motor, housed in the wheel, is sealed and IP67 waterproof, with no greasing or periodic adjustment. A monthly check of tyre pressure and battery charge is enough for regular use.
After a ride by the sea or on a muddy trail, a rinse with a hose is enough. Spare parts and consumables (wheels, bushings, grip tape) are available in the accessories shop if they wear.
On foot, you pull the Stern' like a suitcase by its handle. By car, it fits on the back seat or in the boot, depending on the configuration. In a van or when travelling, it stows like standard luggage, with the battery removed on backpack battery configurations.
See the Tutorials page for step-by-step learning, or discover the Stern' to compare the available configurations.
