Sternival 2024: the first gathering of the e-skate community in France
Sternival 2024. The day the community came together.
A first get-together for Stern' owners
September 2024, in Bordeaux: the very first Sternival. Until then, Stern' owners had crossed paths in car parks, forests or on beaches, each on their own, sometimes after recognising each other on social media. The Sternival was designed as a day when everyone finally meets in one place, with no pressure to perform, just to ride together.
The brand had just spent two years travelling all over France to test the board on every terrain and meet rental companies, as the Our story page explains. The Sternival carried on this hands-on approach, but this time on the users' side: technical rider or curious weekend rider, there was room for everyone.
Ride the world, for one day
The spirit of the event took up an idea close to the brand's heart, "ride the world": ride anywhere, without worrying about the terrain. The day mixed trail routes, more technical sections for riders used to skateboarding or snowboarding, and gentler carving sessions for those still getting to know their e-skateboard.
Some participants had been riding for months and had already worn out their first tyres. Others had just bought their configuration and used the day to refine their stance and braking alongside more experienced riders. This mix of levels, rather than competition, set the tone for the first Sternival.
A community built one terrain at a time
The Sternival was not organised as a standard marketing exercise. It was more a natural extension of the way the brand has grown: two founders travelling around France, users stopping to ask questions during test rides, and gradually an owner base large enough to justify a gathering.
