A Stern' that reassures above all
The Stern' reassures you from the very first outing: an optional learning pole for the first few metres, gradual speed and three stable wheels. It is the same board that experienced riders use.
Electric skateboard for family outings
Looking for an unusual activity to share as a family, from age 14, even if you have never done any boardsports?
The guide
An outing, not a riding lesson
What the learning pole changes in practice
The learning pole gives you something to lean on while you find your balance on three wheels. Once you feel comfortable, usually after a few sessions, you put it aside. To learn, the step-by-step instructions are on the Tutorials page.
Why IP67 waterproofing matters for families
A family outing does not stop at the first puddle. IP67 waterproof, the Stern' carries on along a wet track, crosses a waterlogged patch and can be rinsed with a hose after an outing in the forest or on the beach. It is the same board that professional rental companies use.
Which configuration for a first family board
For town and short off-road outings, the Stern' Urban 1000 W, with integrated battery, is the simplest: no backpack, 20 km of range. For longer outings in the forest or on tracks, choose a backpack battery (50, 75 or 100 km). See also the Family outings guide.
From what age?
The Stern' can be ridden from age 14. You need to be tall and heavy enough to keep your balance. Given the speed and weight of the board, adult supervision and protective gear are essential.
