A removable battery detaches from the board and is carried separately: on the Stern', in a backpack. It weighs 4 kg (15 Ah), 5.5 kg (20 Ah) or 7 kg (25 Ah) and charges in 1.5 to 2.5 hours with the 10 A fast charger, or in 3 to 5 hours with the standard 5 A charger included, depending on its capacity.

What a removable battery changes day to day
With a removable battery, the weight is split: the board stays light and the battery travels on your back. You never lift everything in one go. An integrated battery makes setting off simpler: nothing to plug in, the board is ready.
Range and available configurations
With the backpack battery, the Stern' comes with 50, 75 or 100 km of range (15, 20 or 25 Ah battery), in 1000 W or 2000 W. The Stern' Urban, with an integrated battery, offers 20 km: it is designed for the city rather than for long rides.
Removable or integrated: the comparison
Weight to carry: with the backpack, the board stays light and the battery is carried on your back; with the integrated battery, you carry everything in one piece. Fast charging (10 A charger): 1 hour for the integrated battery; 1.5 to 2.5 hours for the backpack (15 to 25 Ah). Standard charging (5 A charger included): 2 hours for the integrated battery; 3, 4 or 5 hours for the backpack (15, 20 or 25 Ah). Range: 50, 75 or 100 km with the backpack (15, 20 or 25 Ah); 20 km with the integrated battery. Setting off: the backpack battery needs plugging in; the integrated battery is ready straight away.
The right choice depends on how you ride: short, regular journeys in town, or long rides where range matters.
